FAQs
DEVICES
What wavelengths do your devices use?
The panels and wearables use 7 wavelengths: 480 nm (blue), 630 nm and 660 nm (red), and 810 nm, 830 nm, 850 nm, and 1060 nm (near-infrared). The Face Mask uses 4 wavelengths: 460 nm, 630 nm, 660 nm, and 850 nm.
Each wavelength targets a different depth of tissue and biological mechanism. See our Wavelength & Benefits guide for the full breakdown.
Are your devices FDA-approved?
Our panels and wearables are manufactured in a US FDA-registered, ISO 13485-certified facility (Shenzhen Idea Light Limited, facility reg. no. 3015287734). The Face Mask holds a US FDA 510(k) clearance (K233114) for over-the-counter wrinkle reduction.
FDA registration of the manufacturing facility and 510(k) clearance are US designations and are distinct from Philippine FDA certification.
What certifications do the devices carry?
CE, FCC, RoHS, UL (E538568), ISO 13485, MDSAP, Health Canada MDL 110327, and TGA ARTG 452667. The Face Mask additionally holds US FDA 510(k) clearance K233114.
How long do the devices last?
All panels and wearables carry a 2-year limited warranty. The devices have no user-serviceable parts. If your unit requires servicing, contact us directly.
Is the device safe for all skin types?
Red and near-infrared light is generally well-tolerated across all skin types. If you experience itching or unusual sensitivity within 48 hours of your first session, discontinue use and consult a healthcare professional before continuing.
Why do some LEDs look like they're not working?
Near-infrared wavelengths (810 nm, 830 nm, 850 nm, 1060 nm) are invisible to the naked eye. The human eye can only perceive wavelengths up to approximately 760 nm. Those LEDs are functioning normally. You can verify output with a smartphone camera, which is more sensitive to infrared light.
What are the preset scene modes?
The panels include 7 preset modes: Universal, Skin Care, Muscle Recovery, Joint Pain, Sleep, Fat Loss, and Pets.
Can I use the device for my pet?
Yes. The Pets preset mode is included on all panels. Red and near-infrared light therapy has been used in veterinary recovery contexts. Start with shorter sessions and consult your vet if your pet has any existing conditions.
What is the difference between the Mini, Max, and Elite panels?
The HealuxMini has 60 LEDs and is best for targeted treatment of specific body areas. The HealuxMax has 240 LEDs and covers half to full-body treatment. The HealuxElite is the largest panel, designed for full-body coverage in clinical and performance settings.
All three share the same 7-wavelength configuration and irradiance specifications.
What is irradiance and why does it matter?
Irradiance is the power of light delivered per unit area, measured in mW/cm². Higher irradiance means more therapeutic photons reach your cells per session. Our panels deliver above 160 mW/cm² at 6 inches, which is among the highest in their class.
Irradiance drops significantly with distance. At 12 inches, you receive a lower dose suitable for surface-level skin treatment. At 6 inches, you maximize deep-tissue penetration.
OPERATING YOUR DEVICE
How long should each session be?
For general wellness: 10 to 20 minutes per area, daily or at least 3-4 times per week.
For pain and recovery: up to 3 sessions per day on the affected area, 10 to 20 minutes each.
More is not always better. Overexposure at high irradiance can lead to diminishing returns. Follow the session guidelines our Protocol Calculator
How far should I position the device from my body?
6 inches (15 cm) for maximum irradiance and deep-tissue benefit. 12 inches (30 cm) for milder, surface-level skin treatment or wider area coverage.
Tip: 6 inches is roughly the span of an adult hand from stretched thumb tip to pinky tip. 12 inches is double that.
Can I use it on multiple body areas in one session?
Yes. Treat one area per session window, then reposition the device. There is no strict limit on total body areas per day, but give each area adequate exposure time rather than rushing across multiple zones in a single short session.
Do I need to wear eye protection?
Eye protection is not required but is recommended, especially for sessions near the face. Red and near-infrared light is not known to cause eye damage at typical therapeutic distances, but the LEDs are bright. Wear the included goggles and close your eyes
If you have pre-existing eye conditions such as retinal disorders or photosensitivity, consult your ophthalmologist before use.
Can I use it on multiple body areas in one session?
Yes. Treat one area per session window, then reposition the device. There is no strict limit on total body areas per day, but give each area adequate exposure time.
Should I use it clothed or unclothed?
The area being treated must be exposed. Light does not penetrate clothing effectively. You can remain clothed elsewhere on your body. Bare skin direct exposure to the light is required for therapeutic effect.
Will it interfere with my medications?
Red and near-infrared light therapy is generally safe alongside most medications. However, if you are taking photosensitizing drugs such as Retin-A, Tetracycline, Digoxin, or other photosensitizers, consult your doctor or pharmacist before use. These medications can increase skin sensitivity to light.
Is it safe for children?
Published research has not identified safety concerns with low-level light therapy in children, and it has been studied in developmental and neurological contexts.
However, children should always use the device under adult supervision and with physician clearance, particularly for any therapeutic application.
For pediatric use cases such as developmental support, we recommend consulting a qualified physician before beginning.
How long until I see results?
Early effects (1 to 3 sessions): Many users report reduced pain, better mood, and improved sleep quality.
Longer-term results (2 to 4 weeks): Visible improvements in skin firmness, hair density, and chronic joint comfort typically emerge with consistent daily use.
Results vary by individual, session consistency, and the condition being addressed. Light therapy is cumulative, similar to exercise.
How do I clean and store the device?
Power off and unplug the device before cleaning. Wipe the body with a dry microfiber cloth or a cloth lightly dampened with water.
Do not use alcohol or chemical cleaning agents on the lens surface. Store in a clean, dry location between 0°C and 40°C (32°F to 104°F) at humidity below 50%.
What should I do if I experience side effects?
Mild warmth, dryness. or skin redness immediately after a session is normal and temporary.
If you experience itching, swelling, or prolonged skin irritation within 48 hours of your first session, stop use and consult a healthcare provider before continuing.
